In 2017 in Minnesota, 2,525 people were exploited.

There were also 401 trafficking investigations with 182 arrests and 96 charges.

1.3% of Minnesota's high school students traded sex for something of value in 2019. 


During spring 2020, Safe Avenues saw a 30% increase in calls.

Sexual exploitation is not only in Minnesota, it's right here in our rural communities.

What Will Our 2022 Campaign Fund in Kandiyohi County?

  • Create flexibility for our partner organizations in trauma informed care training programs as they respond to the increase in domestic and sexual violence and individual trauma experienced in the last two years

  • Offer grant funding to partner organizations working to build trauma informed care capacity focused on children, youth, and families

  • Broaden awareness of the intersectionality issues impacting sexual exploitation in our county, igniting solutions within our community
