About Angie Hatlestad

Angie is originally from Minnesota, and after a period in Colorado, moved back to the area in 2005. She has worked at Ridgewater College for the past 17 years as a Psychology Instructor, leaning into her bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota and her Education Specialist degree in School Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. Angie and her husband, Dain, reside in New London and have 2 children in high school at NL-S. Angie enjoys spending time with her kids, attending sporting events, hanging out with family and friends, and spending time working on their home. She also loves to travel and frequently visits Captiva Island and Colorado. Involvement with the Willmar Area Women’s Fund

As a new member of the Women’s Fund this year, Angie attended her first meeting in May 2022 and decided she wanted to be involved immediately. Since joining, she has become a member of the Messaging and Marketing Task Team where has jumped right in. Angie has stated she is very interested in the goals of the Women’s Fund and the entities we support, such as Kandiyohi County Human Services, Lutheran Social Services, Foster Stitches, and Project Turnabout. Learning more about these organizations has been very eye opening and has showed the overwhelming need for support from community members.

Other Organizations Angie Supports

In addition to her involvement with the Women’s Fund, Angie has been active with the Make-a-Wish Foundation as a Wish-Granter. She has the opportunity to meet children and discover their wishes and how she can help grant those wishes. She enjoys getting to know the children and their families and has fun making their days a little brighter. She is also involved with a number of committees within Ridgewater College, including being the Phi Theta Kappa advisor for the last 10 years. Additionally, she serves on the Leadership committee at Ridgewater, along with volunteering at numerous events within Kandiyohi County. Why Angie is committed to WAWF

As a mother of a daughter, Angie has always focused on empowering girls and women, and she believes WAWF lifts up organizations that not only support young girls and women, but also use a wholistic approach with intersectionality and trauma-informed care (TIC). Angie resonates with the mission of WAWF, which states, “The mission of the Willmar Area Women’s Fund is to support and enhance the lives of women and girls facing challenges in the Kandiyohi County area.”

We are excited to welcome Angie to the Willmar Area Women’s Fund! She has a heart for our mission and has already volunteered much of her time and energy to our cause. We believe Angie will make many positive contributions to the Women’s Fund and our work.
